TOP PRIZE IS RUNNING P SADDLE!

As is the tradition of the Monterey County Cattlemen's Association (MCCA) the All-Around Saddle is named, in memoriam, to an individual that has supported the cattle industry.

This year’s saddle is dedicated to Allan Wallace. Born and raised in the Salinas Valley, Allan was Salinas High School alum, attended Fresno State and a veteran of the Korean War. His lifelong passion was cattle ranching and when he returned to the Salinas Valley he found work with Albert Hansen on the Topo Ranch outside of King City. The two worked to make the Topo the best pasture cattle operation in the state. In 1990, Wallace was named the Monterey County Cattleman of the Year for his work on the Topo.He volunteered at the California Rodeo Salinas for over 50 years and was Arena Director for 14 of those years.Allan Wallace’s contributions to the Monterey County Cattleman and his service to the enrichment of the California Rodeo Salinas will be recognized during the 2019 MCCA SVF Ranch Rodeo.
