Online Junior Livestock Auction

Our Promise To Our Community

Since 1941, the Salinas Valley Fair has had an implied promise to be a part of the delivery of agricultural education in the Salinas Valley. Our teachers and volunteer leaders work year-round to ensure youth are engaged in learning the best practices of raising livestock that yields quality food for Californians. The culmination of that effort is often at a county fair livestock auction. The Salinas Valley Fair is committed to delivering on this promise despite the obstacles presented.

Our Salinas Valley Fair Livestock Committee with the support of the entire fair board, dedicated volunteers and staff will produce a Virtual Livestock Show and Online Auction June 20, 2020, 8 AM hosted by Overland Stockyard. Click here to go to the sale site. Buyers that have purchased animals in 2018 and 2019 were mailed instructions for participating in our online auction.

Important! New Buyers should go HERE to register as a new buyer. Information for new buyers will be sent electronically by email. You must register by June 5th. No new buyers will be registered on the day of the sale.

All buyers can download the Auction Sale Order listed on this page or look for this year's auction catalog in the King City Rustler on June 17, 2020.

Online Auction Commission, Fees, Statistics

  • All lots will be sold by the head.
  • For market animals there will be no live pick-up or custom harvest. All sales are resale only! The majority of your purchase may be tax deductible as a donation to the Salinas Valley Fair, Inc.
  • Our goal is to sell all 614 lots at the estimated break even price per species.

  • A 5% commission will be charged to the seller for both the sale and add-on. Commission will cover 2% paid to the online auction company and 3% to the Salinas Valley Fair to help cover most of the costs to administer the auction.
  • Sellers of Market Beef, Swine and Sheep will be charged fees required by livestock marketing councils. Fees are posted in the Exhibitor handbook on page 60.

2020 Salinas Valley Fair Junior Livestock Auction Add-On Form

Thank you for supporting the Salinas Valley Fair Junior Livestock Auction. Please submit one form for each Exhibitor/Seller. The minimum add-on is $50 and a 5% convenience fee will be charged for each add-on processed. You do not need need a buyer number to donate an add-on or to the cooperative add-on.
Completing this form is easier with the following information:
- Your Buyer Number
- Seller Lot Number and Club
We can still process an add-on without a buyer number, seller lot number and club information.
Last day to submit add-ons is Saturday, June 27, 2020.

Cooperative Add-on Donation Form

Thank you for donating to the Salinas Valley Fair Junior Livestock Auction Cooperative Add-On Fund. All Cooperative add-ons will be evenly distributed to all exhibitors in the Junior Livestock Auction. My donation will go toward the fair's goal of raising $350,000 before the auction on June 20, 2020.
The minimum cooperative add on is add-on is $500 and a 5% administrative fee will be charged.
Add-ons are not valid without submitted payment.
