"Back in the Saddle" May 12-15, 2022

Hello Salinas Valley Fair Friends and Family!

We are so excited to welcome you back to King City to celebrate the 78th Annual Salinas Valley Fair May 12-15. This year, our theme is “Back in the Saddle,” and we are jumping right in with all of your favorite activities. The Fair will once again be filled with all of your favorite exhibitions like 4-H and FFA Livestock, cookies, photos, and so much more. We have expanded our exhibition program to include digital entries, including speeches and FFA creed and opening and closing ceremonies. If you’re interested, stop into any one of our exhibition buildings or barns and see what our talented exhibitors are up to.

Alongside all of our exhibits, we bring a full week of family-friendly activities and entertainment. Bring the whole family, young and old, for Kids' Day on Thursday, Seniors' Day on Friday, or Armed Forces Day on Saturday. Each day in the Stampede Arena, we will feature new and exciting entertainment options, along with our Kid's Zone and commercial area. And... before you leave, don’t forget to enjoy our traditional fair foods – corn dogs, cotton candy, funnel cakes or giant cinnamon rolls!

While we’ve missed everyone the past two years, we have been busy keeping the Fairgrounds in shape and moving forward into the future. During the pandemic, the Salinas Valley Fair, in partnership with the Arroyo Seco Wireless, has embarked on a project to improve the connectivity at the Fairgrounds. During fire season in 2020, it became a priority to update the aging wireless and internet infrastructure to support our first responders and fairground events. We are working to install high speed Internet that will be available for all building rentals and events. We are able to execute this project through generous donations from the Echenique Foundation and the Community Foundation for Monterey County Fire Relief Fund.

The Salinas Valley Fair also received a grant from the State of California to help renovate and update the Expo Building, which is one of our beloved original buildings on the Fairgrounds. We are excited to utilize the grant funding to make this building more usable year-round for many community members. The Fair Board is working closely with the Heritage Foundation to fund additional improvements to the existing flooring, basketball hoops, and eventually kitchen space.

Thank you for your continued support of the Salinas Valley Fair. We are truly grateful for all of our exhibitors, sponsors, and supporters and look forward to seeing you at this year’s Fair.

Interim CEO
