Sea Lion Splash

Sea Lion Splash is an educational demonstration with a splash! The stars of the show will amaze you as they demonstrate their agility and intelligence, all while teaching us the importance of stewardship of our oceans. Audiences will leave with a new appreciation for our ocean’s wildlife, our environment and our responsibility to preserve them both.

Butterfly Kingdom

With over 200 hundred butterflies, including six different species, this educational exhibit shows a video of the life cycle of a butterfly from the egg to the adult butterfly and how to fix a broken wing. Feeding sticks are provided so fairgoers can feed and interact with the butterflies. Butterfly kits are also available so patrons can take home their very own butterfly and watch the whole hatching process.

Mind Works

Mind Works is a lighthearted, playful, hands-on attraction that is entertaining and educational. Whether you are 2 or 102, you will find something to enjoy and floss the mind! From giant Jenga, World Map Puzzle, Jumbo Lego Wall, Connect Four, Battleship, or jumbo Chess this family area will keep the family entertained for hours.

Magic of Rafael

Zany Zoe Magic & Trixie the Clown

Zany Zoe is an energy bomb who loves the arts. She got her touch of magic from her award winning magician/professor grandfather Humberto, which did Magic and Illusions in Nicaragua where her family is from. The most magical thing she saw her grandfather doing was floating a table in mid air, in his office. Zany Zoe was floored. Ever since then, she has not stopped learning through books, technology, researching and making magic happen. She promised her grandfather that she would continue the magical legacy. In her incredible show, she floats and dances with a table, appears a snake, produces traveling silver coins, makes families laugh, brings out the happiness and fun in humanity and so much more.

Buck Trout

Buck Trout brings smiles and laughter wherever he goes! Keep an eye out for him as he drives his little truck with the canoe on top and be sure to catch a great photo opportunity! While most campers head to the mountains, Buck Trout makes a bee-line toward festivals and fairs. A buck-toothed, nature loving puppet, Buck Trout prefers the laughter of children to the serenity of a mountain retreat.

“Happy Day Pony Rides” is a Salinas Valley Fair tradition and we hope they will become one of your family’s traditions, too. Since 1961, Happy Day Pony Rides has been creating memories and traditions for families. Their friendly staff will ensure your little one has a great ride and provide a learning opportunity, too. Be sure to ask about their coloring pages, educational equine brochures and inquire as to where the ponies go when they aren’t playing with your family at the fair!
