We are looking forward to the 80th Salinas Valley Fair and are excited to spend Fair Week with Heritage Members and Fair goers May 16th – 19th!
Through the last year we have completed all the work on the Expo Building and were excited to host our Polenta & Stew Feed in the building. Our efforts towards the Expo Building have created an improved space for our community’s youth sports, booth spaces for on-ground events, as well as provided an upgraded event venue. The improvements were made possible through private and public funding that include: bathroom renovations, storage updates, basketball, new flooring, and an upgraded kitchen. Be sure to check out the Expo while shopping during Fair!
We are proud to announce that this year’s Salinas Valley Fair Heritage Foundation Scholarship Recipient is Saul Guijarro, a member of Rancho San Juan FFA. He is raising a lamb named, “Bucky,” for this year’s Junior Livestock Auction. He is very proud to be our recipient and stated, “I get to help give back to my community, and I feel privileged to be a part of raising money to help improve and maintain the Salinas Valley Fair.” Saul is a freshman at Hartnell Community College and plans on continuing his education at CSUMB in their new Plant and Soil Science Program. Check out Saul in action on Saturday, May 18th during the Junior Livestock Auction.
During Fair, we will be offering ice cold margaritas, cheladas, and more at our Margarita Booth behind the Pavilion. We welcome ALL 21+ Fair attendees to stop by and get a nice refreshment in support of SVFHF!
All Heritage Members, and those interested in a membership, can find the Heritage Room located in the Pavilion, just outside of the Rava Barn. This change has brought our members more space for conversing and relaxing, while maintaining proximity to the barns.
